A new site developed by Billian for Dawson & Sanderson and aimed at couples who wish to ask for a 'gift with a twist' has now gone live. The giftmyhoneymoon.co.uk site offers couples the ability to create a savings fund for their honeymoon as an alternative from the usual gift list. Donations are taken online and the couple create their own honeymoon profile using photographs and text. This has been a slightly different venture for Billian and an exciting one for us to be involved in. It's a great idea and hopefully it will be a big success for Dawson & Sanderson.

We are very pleased to be working with Sabre to provide their customers across the EMEA region with a B2C web booking engine. This exciting new product has been developed specifically for Sabre customers and offers flights, hotels and cars with a choice of language, colour and branding options with full online payment processing capabilities. Features include calendar shopping, multi-sector itineraries, integration with low cost carriers, single PNR generation and auto-ticketing.
Full details of the product and a demonstration is available from Sabre representatives in each region.

TTS 2011 has come to an end today and it looks as though this will be one of the most successful shows ever for us !
Visitors from UK and Europe came to see both our well established and new products and the feedback was extremely positive, especially for our corporate booking tools and dynamic packaging solution. It was also excellent to meet up with our existing customers, many of whom have been with us for many years and it is always a good opportunity to catch up and see how their businesses are doing and get new ideas for future product development.

There is a lot of interest and we are very much looking forward to deploying this to our first joint customer very soon. All our other products, including our corporate profile and self booking tool and B2B and B2C airfare solutions are also available with the Travelport GDS.

We are pleased to announce that John Melchior has taken up the position as Sales Director for Billian. John brings a vast experience and in depth knowledge of the travel industry both in Britain and Internationally. Born and educated in Denmark John came to the UK in 1981 and became Managing Director of Maersk Travel and later Scanscape Holidays. Later he joined the airline sector by becoming Sales and Marketing Director of Birmingham European Airways and in 1991 he became Executive Vice President of Radius, The Global Travel Company.
Since 2005 John has been Managing Director of JME Enterprises and Consultancy Ltd, a consultancy company who has helped a number of suppliers to the travel industry including several technology companies develop their business in UK and Europe. The consultancy also advises travel agencies on how to do better business and corporate clients on making best use of their travel budget.
In taking on this new task John Melchior said: “JME has made a point in only representing and working for high quality companies and I have got to know Billian, their products and their people over the last few years and I have no hesitation in representing and helping them get their products more widely distributed. The company has an excellent track record, very happy clients and products that appeal to the travel agency community today as they help making their operations more flexible and more efficient”
Ian Jones, the Chief Executive of Billian added: “ John has all the experience and contacts in the industry which will help us achieving our objectives. We know the appeal our products have, but by recently employing another industry veteran Luc Dethaey as Managing Director and now John Melchior to head up our sales efforts we are confident that Billian will become one of the leading suppliers of Travel agency systems over the next few years”.

We are pleased to announce that on 1st October, Luc Dethaey joined the company as Managing Director.
Some of our customers may know Luc from his previous work, however we would like to give you some background and are sure you will see why the decision was made to bring Luc onboard.
Luc was the founder of ICSAT, a Company specialising in front and mid-office solutions with customers in more then 20 countries worldwide. ICSAT was bought by Amadeus some years ago and since then Luc has been working as a consultant for various companies, including Galileo and Agresso. Luc has more then 20 years experience in the Travel Technology sector and knows the industry very well.
In addition to sales and business development, Luc's main aim in the first 6 months will be to streamline the business and put more processes and organisation into the way we work currently, we are sure that this will have a positive impact on both customers and staff.
Ian & Vicki remain the major shareholders and will continue to work alongside Luc. Ian's role will now be Chief Executive and all major decisions will be made jointly.
Whilst Ian's main role will continue to be focussed on Development, ensuring that work is done to a high standard, on time and to specification, he will also be looking at ways to move the products forward by investigating emerging technologies and new processes. As you are aware, our industry changes rapidly and Ian will also spend time working with industry specialists to review new requirements and to further enhance the products to the benefit of both existing and new customers.
We are hoping to arrange customer visits over the next few weeks so that Luc can meet everyone personally, however if there is anything in the meantime that you would like to discuss please do not hesitate to contact us.

From today, customers will be able to log support issues and requests for enhancements via our website. The support area has been greatly enhanced and customers are able to log calls, track progress and produce reports based on their activity.
In-house, logs are checked and updated on a regular basis and customers will receive e-mail notifiction of each update.
Customers wishing to access this facility should request an access code from us.
